Privacy Policy
Last updated : June 9, 2026
Hatchdex (“we”, the site) is a free, anonymous collaborative web game. We are privacy-friendly by design: no account, no name, no email required to play. This page explains what little data we process and why.
Who is responsible
Publisher: Hatchdex. Contact for any privacy question: contact@hatchdex.com.
What we process
- An anonymous identifier (cookie
hd_anon) that lets the game remember your daily action and your personal Dex, without knowing who you are. - Your language preference (cookie
hd_lang) and a small cookie remembering the last hatch you saw (hd_seen_hatch). - A hashed (anonymized) form of your IP address, used only to limit abuse (one feed per day). Your raw IP is never stored.
- Aggregated, anonymous usage statistics (e.g. number of daily visitors) to understand traffic. No profiling.
- Push notifications only if you explicitly enable them: we store an anonymous browser subscription to send at most one reminder a day. You can disable it anytime in your browser.
We do not sell your data and we do not build advertising profiles ourselves.
Cookies
The cookies above are strictly necessary for the game to work (legitimate interest). When advertising is enabled, third-party advertising cookies may also be used — see below — and only with your consent where required.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads. In the European Economic Area and the UK, ads are shown according to your choices in our consent banner. You can review and control ad personalization at Google Ad Settings and learn more at Google’s advertising policies. You can also opt out of third-party vendors at aboutads.info.
Hosting
The site is self-hosted on a dedicated server. Standard server logs may be kept temporarily for security.
Retention
Cookies last up to 12 months. Anonymous gameplay records are kept to run the game. Aggregated stats are kept without identifying you.
Your rights (GDPR)
Because the game is anonymous, the simplest way to erase your data is to clear your cookies for this site. You may also contact us at contact@hatchdex.com to ask about access, deletion or objection. EU residents may lodge a complaint with their data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Children
The game is suitable for a general audience and collects no personal information that would identify a child.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
