About Hatchdex

One mysterious egg. The whole community feeds it, one hug a day, until it hatches.

The idea

There’s always one active egg, the same for everyone. Nobody knows what’s inside: the species and its rarity are rolled at random when the egg is created, and hidden until it hatches. Each person can feed it once a day — a single tap. The only way to hatch it faster is to be more of us.

Hatching

When the growth counter reaches the threshold, the egg hatches: we discover the creature, its family and its rarity. It joins the Sanctuary forever — the public museum of every hatched creature — and a brand new egg appears right away.

The families

The rarities

The rarer a creature, the higher the hatching threshold — and the more the saga becomes a real community event.
